Most of my students have started Pilates with me after healing from back, hip, knee surgery. Those who have had surgery have limited range of motion even months and years after surgery. They have expressed they still feel weak and would like to travel more, go hiking or golf multiple days in a row.
When I meet them and discuss medical history, I carefully choose exercises that help them get comfortable moving with more confidence. I make sure I challenge their strength through various resistances.
We revisit goals regularly to make adjustments.
